Massage & Stretch Therapy
Benefits of Massage & Stretching
Massage can improve posture, relieve soreness, boost circulation, and reduce stress. When you add focused stretch therapy, you not only increase range of motion, you’re more likely to maintain those results between sessions.
Our team specializes in barefoot massage, but we match the technique to the client, the therapist, and the session goals. Some sessions use mostly feet, some use hands, and some blend both.
Hands-on massage is especially helpful for clients who prefer traditional table massage, are new to deeper bodywork, or need more specific work around the neck, shoulders, TMJ, arms, or smaller areas.
Deep Tissue, Trigger Point therapy, and cupping are included when appropriate. Prefer more mobility? Add 30 minutes to any massage or book a stretch-only session (athletic clothing recommended).
If other approaches haven’t delivered lasting relief, you’re in the right place. We match the tool to the tissue, not the other way around.
Ashiatsu is our signature massage where the therapist utilizes parallel ashiatsu bars on the ceiling for support and balance, along with gravity and body weight, to deliver a consistent, broad, and deep pressure massage with the feet. Pressure can be customized to fit clients' needs.
Barefoot Massage is excellent for individuals with chronic conditions such as back/hip pain, shoulder pain, or scoliosis. It's also highly beneficial for cross-fitters, runners, cyclists, and athletes looking for treatment and prevention of injuries, increased range of motion, fast recovery, and long-lasting results.
Pro tip: Want longer-lasting results? Add a 30-minute Stretch during online booking

Hands-On Massage
Prefer a traditional massage style? We offer hands-on therapeutic massage with select therapists.
These sessions use light to moderate pressure and may include Swedish-style massage, gentle therapeutic work, stretching, and focused attention for areas like the neck, shoulders, back, hips, and legs.
Hands-on massage is a good fit if you want a calming, familiar massage experience, are newer to bodywork, or prefer a lighter touch.
Looking for deep pressure? Please book Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage instead.
Ashiatsu uses broad, consistent pressure and is usually the better choice for clients who want deeper work without the pokey elbows.

Bull City Soles is the Durham campus for the Center for Barefoot Massage and we train licensed massage therapists every 5-6 weeks to learn barefoot massage. We offer Student Sessions in our clinics to existing Bull City Soles clients by therapist recommendation. Clinics last 1.5–2 hours and cost $40.
Students practice under instructor supervision; not a customized session. If interested, ask your BCS therapist and we’ll add you to the list.
Workshop Client Requirements:
-
You must be an existing Bull City Soles client.
-
Recommendation by one of our massage therapists is required.
-
You should have no major health concerns or restrictions that would limit your ability to receive deep pressure bodywork in a classroom setting.
If you meet these requirements, contact us to be added to our Workshop Client list for future sessions.
