Barefoot Massage Mentoring

Learning comes in layers. For therapists ready to deepen their mastery, I offer advanced Ashiatsu barefoot massage mentoring in Durham, NC and beyond.

Mentoring Options

Therapists trained in other barefoot systems are welcome to schedule mentoring for body mechanics review, session structure support, and technique refinement using their original training materials. I do not teach proprietary strokes outside of my scheduled classes.

If your work is more clinically oriented or focused on chronic pain outcomes, transitioning into Fundamentals is often the strongest next step. If you're already working on refining your barefoot technique, this article may be helpful before scheduling mentoring.

Revitalize Refresher Classes

Retake an Ashiatsu barefoot massage class you’ve already completed to refresh technique, body mechanics, and confidence.

$125 per day | $200 for both days
No CE Hours

Eligible therapists may join any scheduled Fundamentals, Intermediate, or Advanced class they’ve previously completed through the Center for Barefoot Massage.

You’ll work alongside another therapist and practice in real time as the strokes are taught, with instructor feedback as time allows.

  • Choose Day One, Day Two, or both

  • Regular classroom pace

  • Great for refining body mechanics and cleaning up technique

  • Refreshers are available with any CBM instructor

Private or Semi-Private Mentoring

One-to-one support, or share a session with a colleague.

$150 per hour | No CE hours

Private mentoring is for licensed massage therapists who want focused feedback on technique, mechanics, or practice-building. Sessions can be private, or shared by two therapists to split time and cost.

Trained in another barefoot system? Bring your materials—happy to help you refine mechanics and flow. I don’t teach proprietary strokes outside of scheduled classes; if you want to learn my full curriculum, start with Fundamentals.

  • Technique refinement and flow cleanup

  • Body mechanics coaching shaped by my background in Rolfing® Structural Integration (not Rolfing sessions)

  • Case troubleshooting and practical next steps

  • Bar setup guidance

  • Business, marketing, or website feedback

  • Semi-private option available for two therapists

Student Clinics

Expert-guided practice with real, experienced clients.

$125 | 4 CE hours

Student Clinics are a powerful follow-up for therapists who want to refine flow and receive instructor feedback with experienced, barefoot-savvy clients, all in a supervised, post-class setting.

  • May be hosted the day after Intermediate, ROM, or Advanced classes

  • Clients are provided, vetted, and familiar with barefoot massage

  • Each student gives and observes a round of class-specific work

  • Instructor-guided feedback on technique, pace, and flow

  • Ideal for reinforcing new skills with real-time, feet-on practice

Virtual Mentoring Sessions

Support by Phone, Zoom, or FaceTime

$75 per 30 minutes | No CE Hours

Need help troubleshooting a client case, refining session flow, or dialing in your body mechanics? Virtual sessions offer focused support without travel.

Coming from a different barefoot training? Totally fine. We can use your existing materials to troubleshoot body mechanics and help your sessions flow better. If you’re ready to learn my full approach (including proprietary strokes), Fundamentals is the place to start.

  • Client case discussion and troubleshooting

  • Posture and body mechanics feedback via video

  • Session structure, pacing, and flow review

  • Bar setup guidance (when relevant)

  • A demo client may be required, depending on the topic

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need certification or to take a specific class before mentoring?

We don't offer certification but you’ll need to have completed the appropriate Ashiatsu or barefoot massage class that matches the mentoring option you’re choosing. Mentoring builds on prior training — it doesn’t replace foundational coursework. If you’re unsure whether your background qualifies, just reach out and ask.

Are CE hours included in mentoring sessions?

Some refresher-style classes may offer CE hours. Private mentoring and clinics are typically focused on skill refinement and integration rather than CE credit. If CE hours are important for you, contact us before registering so we can clarify what applies.

How do I know which mentoring option is right for me?

If you want structured review and guided practice, a Refresher Class is a good fit.
If you want focused feedback on body mechanics and flow, Private Mentoring works well.
If you’re rebuilding confidence, Student Clinics offer supported hands-on practice.
